Our approach is simple. We love teaching people how to swim, and we love to have fun.

We are Basin Swim Academy.

Basin Swim Academy is located in Finksburg, Maryland, convenient to Baltimore and Caroll counties.  Our goal is to provide exemplary instruction for swimmers of all ages.  We stress  the importance of teaching water safety to young people while making sure they enjoy learning.  We offer opportunities for Child and Me, private lessons, group lessons, adult fitness classes, birthday parties, and more! Our family oriented atmosphere has something for swimmers of all ages! We look forward to welcoming you into our family and helping you on your journey to becoming waterproof

Nicole has been working with both my daughters, age 8 and 3. Both have very different personalities. Nicole has been able to adapt her teaching to their personalities. Not only is she teaching them how to swim but she is building their confidence in themselves. My girls love her!

Nicole is such an amazing swim instructor!! When she first started teaching my younger son Andrew, he was scared of putting his face under water. With Nicole’s encouragement, he transformed into a little fish! He LOVES to swim and never wants his swim lessons to end. She is such a wonderful instructor – patient, kind, and very skilled. People constantly remark that my son is such a great swimmer now, and I feel comfortable with him being in the water. The confidence she instilled in him carries over into all he does, including t-ball. Andrew’s older brother Eli saw how much fun the swim lessons were, and asked for his own lessons. Eli is a little more particular about whom he will let instruct him, but he also loved Nicole. She knows how to tailor her approach to benefit each individual personality of her students. I highly recommend her.

When my daughter started swim lessons with Nicole in June of 2020 (at the age of 4) she was terrified to be in the water by herself. Within 12 weeks she was treading water and swimming on her own with minimal help. A year later she has passed her camp swim test and stays in the 8ft end of the pool by herself without any floatation device or assistance. Her confidence in the water now amazes me compared to where she started just a year ago. I would recommend Nicole as a swim instructor to anyone looking for a peace of mind when it comes to their children learning how to swim on their own. I was afraid to send my daughter off to camp because of the risk she could drown in the deep end of the pool, now I can kiss her goodbye in the morning knowing that she has the skills she needs in the pool to survive on her own without momma bear hovering over her. Once my youngest turns 3 we will be reaching out to Nicole again for his lessons. Thanks Nicole for helping my girl learn such an important survival skill as well as give me a peace of mind!

We have had a great experience at Basin Swim Academy so far. Before our first private swim lesson Maxim made sure to discuss what goals my kids wanted to work towards during their lessons. In 5 short weeks my kids have shown so much improvement on their stroke work and breathing techniques. Basin Swim Academy is also very involved in the community and offers parent’s night out events and so much more!
